Elective Title: 84YF743 — FIELD WORK IN INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE

Description:

The Field Work in Integrative Medicine course provides the learner with an experiential opportunity to explore various integrative/complementary/alternative modalities currently being accessed by patients in the United States. The experiential rotation will provide the learner with a self-directed exploration focused on different integrative modalities being used to address chronic diseases. This will be accomplished by providing a short general overview of the integrative/complementary/alternative approaches to health. The overview will be followed by an in-depth focus exploration of non-pharmacological integrative interventions utilizing a combination of experiential activities, self-reflection, pre-recorded video/audio presentations, and library/online research. All meetings with instructor will occur using video conferencing programs such as Zoom, FaceTime, etc. It is important that the learner understand which modalities are evidence-based and which modalities are not supported by evidence.
